Bloomington/Chicago/Barcelona... Your cruise vacation begins with a motor coach
drive to Chicago followed by air flights to Barcelona. We will be met by Princess
representatives and transferred to our Hotel. It will be nice to have this extra time in
such an exciting city: optional sightseeing could include a visit to the Picasso Museum or to catch
a Flamenco show. We will transfer in the early afternoon to board the beautiful Grand Princess. Marseilles/Provence, France... Prepare for a picnic from the bounty of an open-air market, and pick from an array of quaint villages to serve as your backdrop. Sip wine at a street side cafe in Avignon or browse the bustling Aix-en-Provence. Livorno, Italy... Florence & Pisa await you. You will be able to walk across the Ponte Vecchio and browse the Uffizi Museum, and you can see The David at the Galleria dell'Accademia. The famous Leaning Tower in Pisa is ready for another photo shoot. This will be a most memorable day. Civitavecchia, Italy... Make a wish and throw three coins into the Trevi Fountain, visit the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel or take in the dramatic Colosseum--Rome offers you many, many choices. Naples, Italy... Let the wind blow through your hair on an Amalfi Coastal drive tour from Naples. Visit Pompeii and wander amongst the ruins. The enchanting Isle of Capri brings opportunities to bask in the sun and walk through cobble stoned streets. Mykonos, Greece... This tiny Greek island is colorful and alluring with white-washed facades. The archeological site of Delos is on an adjacent island. Istanbul, Turkey... See Turkey's most impressive sights, including the Blue Mosque, St. Sophia--one of the three largest churches in the world--and the Topkapi Palace Museum. Kusadasi, Turkey... From the bustling harbor of Kusadasi you can journey to the ruins of Ephesus, St. John's Basilica and the Shrine of the Virgin Mary. Athens, Greece... offers many options including a visit to the Parthenon situated on the Acropolis. Also take in the National Museum, the Plaka and the Temple of Poseidon. Some tours may take you outside of the city to visit Corinth & Mycenae. Venice, Italy... Get caught up in the magic of Venice as you glide down the Grand Canal in a gondola. Admire St. Mark's Square and the Doge's Palace. Enjoy a glass of wine at a waterfront cafe or venture to nearby Murano for a colorful piece of Venetian glass--the perfect memento. The ship will overnight in Venice giving you the opportunity for an evening stroll. We will disembark and fly home from Venice. |
